A Message from Our Parish Family
Congratulations on your engagement! We are excited to help celebrate the Holy Sacrament of Marriage with you and your families. We hope that these resources assist you in preparing a liturgy that truly celebrates God’s great gift of love in your lives. Our parish music director can assist with all music arrangements, from song selection to arranging for additional musicians.
Included in your wedding fee is the music director who plays piano and sings. However our rich musical tradition here at Saint Frances of Rome allows for many options. We highly recommend hiring a cantor at the very minimum. Below is a list of the fee schedule. These musicians are not included in the wedding fee and must be booked 3 months prior to the wedding.
String quartet $850
In a general sense, music that is appropriate for a Catholic Mass is appropriate for a Wedding Liturgy. Although we have assembled a list of common songs used at weddings, the list is by no means a complete list of liturgical music.
Psalm 34: Taste and See
Psalm 103: The Lord is Kind and Merciful
Psalm 145: I Will Praise Your Name
Ave Maria (Schubert)
Taste and See (M. Moore)
We Have Been Told (D. Haas)
The Servant Song (R. Gillard)
Ubi Caritas ( B. Hurd)
Instrumental Selections (for entrance and recessional processions)
Canon in D (J. Pachelbel)
Ode to Joy (L. Beethoven)
Bridal Chorus (R. Wagner)
Wedding March (F. Mendelssohn)
Eucharistic Songs (particularly appropriate for Communion)
Gift of Finest Wheat (O. Westendorf)
One Bread, One Body (J. Foley)
Taste and See (J. Moore)
The Wedding Liturgy
The Catholic Wedding can take two possible forms: within a Mass, or outside of a Mass. We’ve included an outline of the liturgy here, with notes where hymns are usually included.
